🕯️

you there light tear
shining bright wonderful
flame yellow mellow
swaying flickering dancing

light tongue
banishing shadows
nice gloom
cozy cozy

simple stick
for diety for superstition
for prayer for wish
tiny candle wick

✒️

Mightier than the sword
They call you
Tongue speaking the utterances
Of the mind and soul

Giving form to the machinations
Of the intellect
Prints to abstract ideas
Like flowering plants

It is said
To hold a ✒️ is
To be at war
It is true is it not ?

With your sister the brush
Being the arms of expression
Letting lose the minds of men
Dancing thoughts put on paper

That magic wand you make possible
Spinning tales and stories
Fascinating child and adult alike
Eyes to books like bees to nectar

When all is said and done
Words will linger
Styled by the mighty ✒️
Cradling future offspring in thought

pebble

Small little tiny piece of stone
Fallen on the waypath many people tread
In the grand scheme of things what is your place
Do you contribute to the great cosmic dance

Once part of huge rock stone or mountain
Changed by years years of grind
Makes me wonder that are you a measure of
Wrinkles on the fame of godfather time

Many a small girl's play thing
You tell us the age of a river by your texture
At the end of your life long as that is
I know you as your final Avatar soil to bear food

tree

majestic standing alone oh tree
like an elder to us children
you have witnessed years and years
share some of your wisdom oh big tree

sprouting forth from a humble seed
growing into so great a plant
when I see you I am with awe
I am not without respect oh tree

our children play around you
many animals need you for shelter
the fungi throng your roots
the birds make you their home

yet evil men cut you down
build stuff with your wood
foolish men they know not
the value of the life of the living tree

every morning you greet the sun
with your green attire so distinct
and dance in the wind left and right
like a joyful being full of love

let me then remind myself
that I should everyday care for you
oh lovely tree and make sure that
you may continue to grow tall

"one straw revolution" by Masanobu Fukuoka book review

While surfing the internet I came across this book by sir Masanobu Fukuoka. I didn't know what to expect. From what videos and posts I saw and read I thought the book would be quite difficult to read for and average person like me with no background in farming and agriculture. I was happy when I started to read "One Straw Revolution" because it was so nice to read and open in a sense to inquiry by a common person. I downloaded the .mobi file format file from archive.org and read it on my android phone using the kindle for android app. Certain words had no spacing in between them ie spacing between subsequent words was missing; this may be due to archive.org's automated system to digitise books.
The preface is nice, provides context and introduces us to some japanese terms and local things that were unique to that time and place like weather patterns and names of crops.
The book is a wholesome experience. One can learn not only something about farming but also about how to work in harmony with nature, the weather, animals, insects, etc. Sir Masanobu Fukuoka teaches about not only farming but also about eating, selling, the collective culture of food, our relationship with the soil and philosophy. All in all if you want to know more about your tongue you must read this book.

Interstellar : movie review ...

Interstellar what an excellent/great movie. Like all of Christopher Nolan's movies when the trailer came out i was very excited citing the fact that this was a space movie. After watching the movie i was blown away. Having seen the "Dark Knight Trilogy " to do even better than that body of work  i thought was not possible but i was wrong. Every little thing ,every minute detail within the movie is thought over ,is designed to the finest detail ..From the spacesuits to the spaceship and oh my what visuals of the black hole's event horizon...I have not watched this movie on the imax format but someday maybe i will....Hans Zimmer's music is extremely well tailored to the story ... to give you an example the
### spoiler alert ###
sounds playing along when cooper chases after and docks with the damaged 'endurance' is just mesmerizing .... the mood , the urgency , the stakes , the sum total of what mankind is boiled down to, the effort, the contrast between the worst and the best of what humanity is can be contrasted by Cooper as good and Dr Mann as bad. This contrast also is exhibited also in the machines obeying the two men ie tars and Dr Mann's machine.... tars is agile , fast , decisive , obedient, efficient, prompt where as Dr Mann's machine is just a bundle of loose wires with the sole purpose of misinformation and to kill ... the two machines reflect the the heart of the men that program them...as such is the author so is the verse...

the poem that is repeated time and time again during the movie " Do not go gentle into that good night .... " captures the burning desire of man/woman kind to seed their offspring ...the love/soul fire of knowing that somewhere somehow the future generations will not succumb to extinction but live and live well...it is so fitting that at the end of the movie the future world is populated by a woman ...

would like to sum up by saying what a movie ... it has everything ~ a fist fight between the hero and villain on a distant planet ... madness and virtue , hope and dismay as in of the professor who has given up on the math and a brother who has resigned his and his children's fate , a father whose love for his seed--- his daughter has pushed him to undertake an "Interstellar" journey... a machine who is literally the right hand of man as in Cooper's tars, time lost , time spent in exchange for life, love, selfishness, etc

The dystopian world shown in the movie is very much a possibility where the soil will not yield to us ... all in all a great movie , a definite much watch.... I will ad to this post in the future if i can ....
